On January 15, 2024, Mr. Leon Maben, Vice-President of the Board of Directors for the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History and Conference Center received the Martin Luther King, Jr. “Beloved Community” Award for Exemplary Service during the 37th Annual Global Race Unity, Inc. MLK Celebration held at Beulah Grove Baptist Church. There is no one more dedicated to the Augusta community than Leon Maben. This award serves as a reminder of his commitment to our beloved city.
