After a summer respite, the monthly community luncheon series commenced in August. The Laney Museum, in conjunction with Augusta University’s Institutional Review Board, presented a panel of six local doctors and medical researchers who fostered an open dialogue regarding the concerns of the black community’s involvement in medical research. This was the second luncheon held this year by the museum and Augusta University in efforts to build trust, enhance research inclusivity and address health disparities in the black community.
