Student Visits to the Museum

This Spring the museum was filled with the vigor of elementary and first grade students from the area whose tours included storytime and arts and crafts. The joy and excitement of the C. T. Walker first grade students was priceless as they expressed a collective “Ahhhh” at the sighting of a painting of their school’s namesake, Rev. Charles T. Walker. History became more real and relatable for them as they learned a few interesting facts about Rev. Walker. All the students were curious and fun. We hope that their museum visit planted a seed for future visits to even more museums and an appreciation of Augusta’s history.
