Augusta celebrated its rich history of Black Heritage on Saturday, February 24th at the Twelfth Annual Lucy Craft Laney Museum Heritage Gala. The event was held at the Augusta Marriott Hotel at the Convention Center. Special guest artist Russell Joel Brown, who has recently relocated back home to Augusta after a 12 year appearance in the Broadway national tour of Disney’s The Lion King. Dancing with live music by Sean McDonald and Sounds Unlimited Band capped the evening’s festivities. Major fundraising programs like the gala aid Laney Museum’s efforts to educate, preserve, and celebrate Black Heritage of the River Region.
