Sewing Sessions for Adults

The Lucy Craft Laney Museum kicked off summer 2025 with two sessions of summer camp. Campers participated in Juneteenth activities which included arts and craft projects and educational activities that taught the history and meaning of Juneteenth and its celebrations. Campers were enthralled by live presentations of birds of prey and mammals. They learned basic hand and sewing machine skills and demonstrated their skills by making decorative pillows. They closed out camp with a Disney character party, dancing and face painting. On the last day, one of the campers told her parents that she had so much fun that she wanted to use her allowance to pay for another week of camp at the museum.
