N.I.C.E. Navigating IRB Community Engagement
Team, Augusta University Institutional Review Board
As we approach the 51st anniversary of the uncovering and ending of the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, it is important to reflect on how this event and others have contributed to healthcare and research distrust, ultimately leading to barriers in research recruitment and negative healthcare outcomes.
Please join the Augusta University Institutional Review Board Office at this community forum to discuss the importance of establishing healthcare/research trust and promoting participant empowerment.
Our goal is to engage the community in a meaningful conversation to learn about their concerns regarding research participation and to hear their suggestions on how community-based researchers can establish a collaborative relationship with them.
