Community Luncheons

October’s luncheon featured Augusta Commissioners Francine Scott, District 9, and Don D.C. Clark, District 5. In November, the Community Luncheon honored those who have served in the United States Armed Forces with an all-star panel featuring Colonel (Ret.) Louis Sylvester, LTC (Ret.) Carolyn Johnson, Colonel (Ret.) Sly Cotton, Senior Master Sergeant (Ret.) Pam Moore, LTC (Ret.) James “Butch” Vincent, and Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) L. A. Gandy. The panel was moderated by Chief Warrant Officer 5 (CW5) (Ret.) Kimberly Oliver.

In December, the museum held its annual holiday Community Luncheon which included inspirational words from Rev. Dr. Charles E. Goodman from Tabernacle Baptist Church along with Christmas songs performed by the Augusta Chorale of Georgia and a Christmas sing-along.

The museum kicked off 2026 with a community luncheon featuring the Brown Sugar Quilters from Atlanta. Panelists shared stories behind some of the quilts on display and also informed attendees about the resources available for quilters and support provided by those who join the Brown Sugar Quilting guild.
