The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History remembers the life and legacy of Valorie Pearl Tillman Davis (January 13, 1949-November 6, 2025). For years Mrs. Davis has shared her experiences growing up in Augusta with the Laney Museum, especially her interactions as a student of Margaret Louise Laney, the niece of Lucy Craft Laney, at A.R. Johnson Junior High School. In more recent years, Mrs. Davis connected with the Laney Museum through the Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club Exhibition, attending the 2024 opening. Valorie Pearl Tillman Davis will be missed by the Laney Museum and the Augusta Community. She was a beautiful person, inside and out!
