Support the Museum

As a privately funded nonprofit institution, The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History relies on the generosity of its friends and supporters to meet the enormous cost of providing quality programs and services, year-round, to thousands of local, national and international visitors.  YOUR support helps the museum keep the legacy of Miss Lucy Craft Laney alive!

Donations, sponsorships and Friend Memberships all help the museum to promote cultural awareness and maintain its commitment to preservation of the Central Savannah River Area’s African-American history.

Your donation to the museum helps support the following:

  • Visual, performing arts, history, literature, preservation and leadership programs
  • Educational Tours
  • Educational Summer Enrichment Camps for children in low to moderate family income with focus on Computer, Education, Arts and History Programs.
  • Children’s Academy Art Camps
  • New Programming like the August Wilson Reader Series
  • Support our Public Art initiatives for areas like The Golden Blocks

The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History is a non-profit 501 c(3) organization. All contributions are tax deductible within the extent of the law.

Our Giving Tree
The Giving Tree honors all of our cherished supporters who have purchased a leaf or stone. The Giving Tree sculpture provides permanent recognition and advertisement for the museum sponsors and donors at specific levels. Sponsors and donors can help to preserve the legacy of Lucy Craft Laney through art, history and the preservation of her home throughout the year.

Based on the level of giving, sponsors/donors will receive an engraved leaf (bronze, silver, or gold), an acorn, or a large stone. Contact Corey Rogers at 706-724-3576 to find out how you can be a part of the Giving Tree!
