Something New

The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History and Conference center made history this year with the launch of its first ever black history calendar. Entitled Augusta Achievers: Celebrating Augusta’s Black History, this 2025 monthly calendar features black Augustans of all ages who have made significant achievements in the community and beyond and whose life’s works define them as a Trailblazer, Gamechanger, Luminary and/or Pacesetter.

During February, Black History Month, a calendar signing was held at the museum to celebrate this inaugural calendar. Throughout February, some of the calendar honorees were profiled during WFXG-Fox 54’s moments in black history segments.
