Club Car Volunteers Revitalize Gardens

On April 28th, “Team Club Car” Beautification Project Volunteers, a (SRA United Way initiative, arrived enthusiastically with tools and varied skills- on a mission to increase the allure of Laney Museum gardens. Ross Lyons led twenty-three other Club Car employees, who joined several Delta House Inc. Board of Directors and Volunteers. Nine (9) hours passed as they raked, removed debris, placed under support to spread 150 bags of mulch, pressure washed both buildings; and, refurbished the pergola and bridge in the Butterfly garden. Initiative stirred, several “Team Club Car” members donated ferns for the porch. Not stopping at garden renovations, they also caulked staircase cracks, repaired door hinges, refreshed vent covers; and, critically important, identified a gas leak. “Team Club Car” made a tremendous difference to the overall appearance and function to both the museum’s exterior and interior. We are so very proud and appreciative of the work done for us, as we continue to promote the legacy of historic educator and social reformer Lucy Craft Laney.
